Geraldine Blasor

Geraldine Geri Blasor, 76, of Cherryvale passed away at her home Saturday, May 28, 2011. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at New Hope Christian Church, 908 East Fourth, Cherryvale, Kansas with David Brown, officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the New Hope Christian Church and may be left at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale or mailed to P.O. Box 801, Independence, Kansas 67301. Geraldine Lee Blasor was born January 25, 1935 at Cherryvale, Kansas the daughter of Roy Jones and Gertrude Gertie Hull Jones. She grew up and attended schools in Cherryvale. She married Alex Valverde and they later divorced. In 1956 she was united in marriage to Bob Blasor and he preceded her in death in April 1993. She lived in the Cherryvale, Neodesha area for numerous years until moving to Phoenix, Arizona where she was employed by Lubys Cafeteria. In 1996 she returned to Cherryvale and was employed by Wichita Canteen at Cessna Aircraft in Independence until her retirement. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church. Survivors are five sons, Rick Valverde and wife Cheryl of Cherryvale, Bobby Blasor and wife Kathy of Burlington, Iowa, Rodney Blasor and wife Julie of Ventura, California, Larry Blasor and wife Teresa of Cherryvale, Jeff Blasor of Cherryvale one brother, Fred Jones of Cherryvale one sister, Joyce Buck of Cherryvale fourteen grandchildren, Tina and husband Glen Wilson, Michael Valverde, Vanessa Valverde, Lisa Valverde, Tabatha and husband Wally Snodgrass, Tammy Valverde, Nichole and husband Cody Smith, Nicholas Valverde, Tonya Blasor, Samantha Kathol, Amanda Blasor, Randy and wife Jamie Blasor, Bobby Blasor, Rachael and husband Jason Gilbert twelve great grandchildren, Marcus and Kelsey Wilson, Zachary and Colan Snodgrass, Ricci and Cooper Smith, Macayla, Laikyn, Mallory and Nicholas Valverde, Ben Kathol, Brianna Gilbert, one great great granddaughter, Allison Wilson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Alex Valverde Jr., her parents, three sisters, four brothers and her longtime companion Joe Sclamberg.
