Georgia Barnett Garner, age 87, of Ardmore, Oklahoma died Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Elmbrook Nursing Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Georgia Barnett Garner was born October 12, 1925 in Hewings, Kansas to Francis Lewis and Mattie Victoria Cabler Barnett. She grew up at Caney Center and graduated from the Caney High School in 1940. On September 5, 1947 Georgia married J.W. Garner in Caney, Kansas. The couple made their home in Amarillo, Texas. J.W. preceded her in death in 1980. Georgia then moved to Lake Texhoma. Survivors include one son Bob and wife Becky Garner of Ardmore, Oklahoma one daughter Lissa and husband Steve Callaway of Amarillo, Texas and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
