Gary Hoover Sr.

Gary L. Hoover Sr. age 81 of Independence, Kansas died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home in Independence, Kansas.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas with Stephen Acuff and Adam Davidson officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Gary L. Hoover Sr., was born September 10, 1939 in Bellflower, California to Venice L. and Eugenia Hope (Johnson) Hoover. He grew up in Southern California before moving to Independence, Kansas and graduating from the Independence Bible School.

On May 27, 1957 Gary married Virginia L. Hull in Independence, Kansas the couple made their home in California. Gary worked for the City of Redlands in the water department. After retirement the couple moved back to Independence, Kansas. He was a member of the Bible Holiness Church.

Survivors include his wife Virginia of the home; daughter Brenda and husband Stephen Acuff of Bowling Green, Missouri, Son Gary L. Jr. and wife Deborah Hoover of Panama City, Florida, Son Aaron E. and wife Michelle Hoover of Gilbert, Arizonia; grandchildren Wendy, Dustin, C.J., Christy, Tabitha, David Aaron, Trista, and Megan; great grandchildren Colton, Jessica, Brynn, Kobe, Maci, Braden, Madeline, Destiny and Kayden. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Shirley Adams.
