Freida Tincknell

Freida Arlene Tincknell, 96 passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab Center in Cherryvale, Kansas. A Celebration of Arlene’s life will be held at Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas on Wednesday at 2:00pm with interment immediately following at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale. Visitation will be at 1pm before the service.

Freida Arlene was born on May 2, 1923 in Cushing, Oklahoma to Cloy and Ethel Ruth (Hersh) Fogleman. Arlene graduated from Morehead Kansas school in 1941 and the attended Parsons College earning her secretary certificate. In 1945, Arlene married Robert Gray and from this union the two welcomed a daughter, Roberta. After the passing of her husband Robert, Arlene married Ralph Tincknell on December 2, 1973. The two were happily married for 37 years until he passed away in 2010. Arlene worked at Sinclair Oil Company for 30 plus years before retiring. Arlene was an active member of the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church, often helping in the kitchen for dinners and functions. She loved to tend to her garden and work on crafts. Arlene was a gifted seamstress, she loved making clothes for herself and loved ones.

Arlene is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Robert and Ralph, three bothers, Cloy, Hugh and Max, and one sister, Loris Elsmore.
