Freida Mullins

Freida Fay Mullins, age 83 of Cherryvale, Kansas died Monday, Dec ember 15, 2008 at the Regal Estates in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2008 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas with the Reverend Steve Butler officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale First Christian Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel. Freida was born November 28, 1925 in Dennis, Kansas to Oscar and Gertie McCarter Pilkington. Freida graduated from the Labette Community High School in 1944. On January 31, 1968 Freida married Kenny Mullins and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1993. Freida lived in St. Louis, Missouri, California and Cherryvale, Kansas. She worked as head housekeeper in St. Louis, Missoui and retired from the Appletree Inn in Independence, Kansas as head housekeeper. She was a member of the Cherryvale Christian Church and loved to play bingo and collected angels. Survivors include one son Don Cunningham of Jefferson City, Missouri; one daughter Becky Wood of Bossier City, Louisiana; niece Marvelle Ellis of Cherryvale, Kansas one sister Elsie Dean of Waverly, Iowa; five grandchildren Tracy Ellis, Brian Cunningham, Dustin Cunningham, Jimmy Cunningham and Timmy Cunningham; and eight great grandchildren.
