Freda Reitz

Freda Reitz, 98, formerly of the Caney area, passed away May 14, 2015 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
She was born on April 17, 1917 to Fred and Molly Fox Klein. She married Arthur Reitz in Sterling, Colorado on January 22, 1939. Mrs. Reitz was a high school business teacher for 16 years in Golden, Colorado. They moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1971 and then to rural Caney, near Tyro, in 1980. Mrs. Reitz loved antiques and collectables and the ownd Belaire Antiques in Bartlesville for many years. She also enjoyed china painting, photography and studying the Bible.
She is survived by two sons; Larry Reitz of Lenapah, OK. and John Reitz of Denver, CO., two daughters; Marlys Miner of Haines, AL. and Judene Rand of San Antonio, TX., nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 2pm, at the Potts Chapel of Caney, Kansas, with Chuck McCarthy officiating. Interment will follow at the Lutheran Cemetery near Tyro, Kansas.
