Frankie Lou Goins, 88, of rural Thayer, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at her home due to natural causes. She was the only child born to Ralph and Lester Luthera Seward Wilson on July 16, 1924 at Neodesha, Kansas. She attended school in Altamont, Kansas and received her Teachers Certificate through the Normal Training Program in Labette County. She later received her Bachelors Degree from Pittsburg, Kansas. She enjoyed a teaching career for over 65 years. The schools where she taught included Cunningham, Hillcrest, and East Fairview Schools , Independence Bible School, Preschools in California, and homeschooled in rural Thayer as well. She received the prestigious Whos Who of American Teachers award as well. On May 2, 1952, Frankie Lou married Deloss LD Goins in Altamont, Kansas. To this union was born four children. The couple worked at the Independence Bible School in Independence, Kansas where Frankie Lou taught in several different grades of the school. She was also a Ministers Wife while her husband, Deloss pastored churches in Elk City, Kansas Granby, Missouri Parsons, Kansas Buena Park and San Bernardino, California and Troy, Missouri. They retired in 2001 at the family farm in Thayer, Kansas, due to health reasons. Mrs. Goins was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Independence, Kansas. Frankie Lou is survived by her four children: David Goins and wife, Vashti of Thayer, KS Les Goins and wife, Ruth of Thayer, KS Linda Daugherty and husband, Charles of Mt View, Missouri and Deland Goins and wife, Donna of Altamont, Kansas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and twentyfour greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Deloss Goins, and granddaughter, Tyra Goins Smith. Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel, in Independence, Kansas on Thursdasy, January 31st from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services for Mrs. Goins will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1st, 2013 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Independence, Kansas. Previewing will be up to the time of the funeral on Friday morning. Memorials are suggested to the Harry Hynes Hospice and to the Independence Bible School.
