Frank J. Meza, 55, of Independence, Kansas passed away Tuesday September 24, 2013 at Mercy Hospital, Independence.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday September 28, 2013 at the St. Andrew Catholic Church, Independence. A Prayer Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the Potts Chapel in Independence with Father Andrew Heiman officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at the Potts Chapel with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. t0 7:00 p.m.
Reciting of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m.
The family may be contacted at 1033 North 17th. Place, Independence, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the Mercy Hospital Cancer Center and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel, Independence.
Frank was born July 22, 1958 in Independence, Kansas the son of Aurelio and Junita Chavez Meza. He grew up in independence attending the Independence School System and graduating in 1976.
Frank worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the W A T C O Railroad company for 18 years until his health forced him to retire.
On February 26, 2000 in Independence, Kansas Frank was united in marriage to Kaycia Winebrenner and they made their home in Independence. Kaycia survives at the home.
Survivors include his wife Kaycia of the home one son Douglas Newman of Lawrence, Ks., one daughter Kyla Newman of Independence, Ks., one brother Paul Meza of California and one sister Rebecca Ramirez of Independence.
