Francis Peter Reichenberger passed away February 21, 2024. Visitation will be at Potts Funeral Home on Monday, February 26, from 5:00-7:00. Rosary will be Tuesday, February 27, at 10:00 at St. Andrews with the funeral mass following at 10:30.
The son of Raymond and Helen (Pirotte) Reichenberger, Frank was born July 9, 1949, in Wichita, KS. He graduated from Andale High School and Kansas State University with a degree in agronomy. He married Collette Martin in1971 and they made their home in Independence for 52 years. He worked for Oakhurst Farms before starting the family operation: Reichenberger Farms. Frank owned and operated a second family business, Green Thumb Green House, for 34 years. He retired due to ill health in 2021. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and sister Patrica Reichenberger. He is survived by his wife; sons Marty (Amy) and Chad (Lindsay); and grandchildren Richelle, Rylie, Reece, Layne, Lindsay Reichenberger, Payten and Colton Minick; brothers Larry (Susie) Mt. Hope; Jack (Cherie) DeSoto, Bob (Becca) Reichenberger Napa; sisters Jeanne (Allen) Sipple Sutton, Nebraska; Barbara Fox Shawnee Mission; Chris (Dave) Seiler Wichita; and Paula (Robin) Friedrichs, Mt. Hope and several cousins.
Pallbearers are Layne and Reece Reichenberger, Zach Bryant, Ben Chism, Jacob Daniels and Eric Pralle. Honorary pallbearers include Dan Carroll, Keith Confer, Joe Smith and Vern Strecker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers or Wilson Medical Center Neodesha, Ks.
