Frances Marie Simpson, 89, Independence, Kansas passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Regal Estate of Glenwood in Independence Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Mount Hope Cemetery with Reverend Delores J. Williamston of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may sign the guestbook on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 9:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m., at Potts Chapel of Independence. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church and may be left with the chapel. Frances was born in Florence, KS on December 28, 1923 to Clyde and Cleo Martin Shuyler. Frances attended and graduated from Holyrood Rural High School and then attended Salt City Business College in Hutchinson. On April 29, 1944 Frances married Clarence Simpson in San Antonio, TX, and the couple made their home in Independence. Frances was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers Merton Shuyler, Clifton Shuyler and Norman Max Shuyler. Survivors include two daughters Karen Fiske, Olathe, KS Cheryl Maris, Valley Center, KS three grandchildren, Suzanne Fisk, Jason Maris and Jennifer Luke Cole, two greatgrandchildren, Drayton Maris and Karson Maris, and two step greatgrandchildren, Lakin Cole and Ryckert Cole. Arrangements by Potts Chapel of Independence.
