Frances was born on November 30, 1933, to B.E. and Stella May (Scott) Patterson in Grainola, Oklahoma. Frances was the youngest of eight children, having five sisters and two brothers. All have predeceased her.
After graduating from Cedar Vale High School, Frances married Lewis Harp in Arkansas City, Kansas, on June 2, 1951. They made their home in Independence where they spent their 57 years of married life. Lewis passed away on December 2, 2008.
Frances worked for Electra Manufacturing, Emerson Electric, and provided childcare for many years. She loved keeping up on the lives of the children she cared for, even through their adult lives. In “retirement,” Frances enjoyed bringing joy to others while delivering flowers for Twig’s Floral in Independence. She also provided adult care for others, including her husband Lewis during the last years of his life.
Frances is survived by daughter Tamela of Independence, two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild. To leave the family a special message of condolence, please visit www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
