Floyd A. Berry age 84, of Havana, Kansas died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the Evergreen Johnson County Nursing Center in Olathe, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Tyro Christian Church, east with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the Fawn Creek Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 2, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Michael Lynn Memorial Scholarship and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Floyd was born October 3, 1924 in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Claude and Vinnie Pitts Berry. He grew up in Bowering, Oklahoma where he attended School. Floyd went to work as a cowboy for Mullendore Ranchs in the Bowering, Oklahoma area. He worked as a cowboy for the Carter Brothers. Floyd then owned and operated his own ranch, where he farmed and did bull dozing. Floyd then worked for Muller Construction Company in Coffeyville, Kansas. He also drove a bull dozer for Ernie Milligan, Dave Todd and Gary Gorby. On June 31, 1947 Floyd married Questa Faye Mounts in Sedan, Kansas. The couple made their home outside of Caney, Kansas before moving to Havana, Kansas 30 years age. Questa preceded him in death on December 2, 2008. Floyd was a member of the Tyro Christian Church, Calvins association and the Oklahoma Soil Conservation. Survivors include two daughters Claudia Lynn of Olathe, Kansas and Cynthia Schultz of Grant, Florida; one sister Juanita Darlene Kyles of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; five grandchildren Jeremy Marcus Berry, Russell, Adam and Rachel Lynn and 10 great grandchildren; he was preceded in death by one grandson Michael Lynn.
