Evelyn F. Jackson, 69, Independence died Sunday at the Windsor Place, Independence. A Graveside Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday July 8, 2011 at the Liberty Cemetery, Liberty, Kansas with the Reverend Steve Butler of the Community Christian Church, Independence, officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel Independence. Visitation will be from 8:00am to 8:00 pm Thursday July 7, 2011 at the Potts Chapel Independence with family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Evelyn was born July 13, 1941, in Rural Montgomery County, the daughter of James and Lella Manley Malone. She attended and graduated from the independence school System and attended Labette County Community College and graduated as a Licenses Practical Nurse. Evelyn worked at the former Colonial Terrace nursing home and retired due to ill health. She was a member for the Veterans Foreign wars ladies auxiliary Independence. Evelyn was united in Marriage to Howard L. Hester in the Baptist Church, Independence, they later divorced. In 1978 Evelyn married Jim True in Miami, Oklahoma they later divorced. Survivors are a son Howard Hester of Cherryvale, Ks., three daughters Becky Evans of Independence, Carol Fagalie, Barn Stall, Okla., Amber True Tulsa, Okla., two brothers Leslie Malone of Independence, Harold Malone Liberal, Mo., two sisters Dorothy Johnson of Independence and Oneta Anderson of Neodesha, Ks. She has 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
