Eunice Hedrick

Eunice I. Hedrick, 82, of Independence passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Montgomery Place Independence, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p. m., Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Potts Chapel Independence with the Reverend Joe Davalt of the Bible Holiness Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Altoona Cemetery in Altoona, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel.
Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m. Sunday, June 5, 2016, with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p. m. at the Potts Chapel.
The family has suggested memorials to the Independence Bible School and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence.
Eunice was born May 14, 1934 in Altoona, Kansas, the Daughter of Earl D. and Gertrude E. (Eppers) Maxwell.
Eunice grew up in Independence and graduated from the Independence Bible School and attended Independence Community College.
On April 5, 1953 Eunice was united in marriage to Gene R. Hedrick and the couple made their home in Independence. They later divorced and Gene preceded Eunice in death in 1993.
Eunice was a Printer for the Automotive Control Corp. now Standard Motors from April 3, 1973 to September 29, 1995. She retired after twenty two years.
She was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in Independence.
Survivors include two daughters Michele E. VanPelt and husband John and Debra L. Simmons of Independence, KS., two sons Steven Hedrick of Wichita, KS. and Robert G. Hedrick of Tonganoxie, KS., one brother Loyd D. Maxwell of Conway, MO., one sister Leona F. Wade of Independence, KS, twelve grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters C. Joyce Barks (August 2002) and Lorene Akens and one great grandchild.
