Eugene Gene Evan Millis, age 81, of Neodesha, Kansas died Monday, April 02, 2012 at the Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012 at the Christ Church with the Reverends Randy Duft and Dave Cheshier officiating. Burial will follow in the Neodesha Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Potts Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. Visitation with family receiving friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Christ Church in Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the AWOL Animals with our Love and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. Eugene Gene Evan Millis was born August 30, 1930 in Buxton, Kansas to James Edgar and Esther Miller Millis. He grew up in the Buxton area and attended schools in Buxton and graduated from the Lafontaine, Kansas High School. On May 21, 1949 Eugene Gene Evan Millis married Mildred Virginia Duft Millis in Fredonia, Kansas. The couple made their home in Neodesha, Kansas. Gene worked as a metal fabricator for MEC for 32 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Christ Church. Gene loved to garden, fish, spend time with animals and treasured moments with his family. Survivors include three sons Jerry Millis and wife Salley of Neodesha, Kansas, Tim Millis and wife Debbie of Neodesha, Kansas, Larry Spike Millis and wife Micha of Neodesha, Kansas two daughters Karen Murray of Neodesha, Kansas and Debbie Hughes of San Angelo, Texas 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren He was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
