Erma Maxine Whitcher of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, January 8, 2017. Maxine was born in Bloom, KS on August 12, 1925, she later moved to Elk City Kansas with her family. She attended and graduated Independence High School. She was retired from the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant where she enjoyed working for many years. Maxine was full of life and loved her family more than anything. She spent her time reading, watching old westerns, crocheting, and playing with lady luck at the surrounding area casinos. She never met a stranger and loved everyone she met. Maxine is survived by her children Jerry and Gloria Botts, Larry and Rozalyn Boggs, Terry and Jo Boggs, Betty and Andy Zotta, Terry and Diana Whitcher, Merle and Peggy Whitcher, Jerry and Peggy Norton, Carolyn and Larry Hodson. Maxine has 23 grandkids, 57 great grandkids, and 3 great great-grandkids, She is preceded in death by her father Charles Leroy Crawford, her mother Millie Minerva Crawford, her brothers Clyde, Glen, Guy and Howard Crawford, and one sister Opal Mae Lamb. Maxine was married to and proceeded in death by Kelsey Botts, Lawrence Lee Boggs, and Boyd Whitcher. Services will be held at Potts Chapel of Independence, Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 1:00pm.
