Eldon Malone

Eldon Raymond Malone, 72 of Independence, Kansas passed away at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Eldon was born to Leslie W. and Betty L. (Gillman) Malone on August 27, 1948 in Independence, Kansas. He grew up in Independence and attended the Independence public schools. On December 21, 1967, Eldon married Janice Taddiken at St. Andrew Catholic Church. The two were married 42 years until Janice passed away on November 13, 2010. Eldon was a lifelong member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Eldon worked at the Cement Plant for 26 years before retiring. He loved to fish, paint statues, and work on word searches and crossword puzzles.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice, son, Edward Malone, sister, Pauline Malone and great granddaughter, Reilley Johnson.

He is survived by his parents, Leslie and Betty Malone of Independence, son, Darrell and wife, Christie Malone of Cushing, OK, daughter Pauline Malone and fiancé, Bert Quisenberry of Independence, brothers Leslie Malone of Pawnee, OK, Randy Malone of Dearing, KS, sister Mary Finney of Independence, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Due to COVID the family will hold private family services.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a memorial contribution be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
