Elaine Janice Malone, age 62, of Independence, Kansas died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at her home in Independence, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Reverend Stephen Mahn Thapwa officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Reciting of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the St. Andrews Catholic Church Building Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Elaine Janice Malone was born June 22, 1948 in Wichita, Kansas to Edward and Ethel Preston Taddiken. Elaine grew up in Independence, Kansas and graduated from the Independence High School. On December 21, 1967 Elaine married Eldon Malone in Independence, Kansas where the couple made their home. Elaine worked for Standard Motors in Independence, Kansas. She was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband Eldon Malone of the home two sons Darrell Malone of Cushing, Oklahoma and Curt Borovetz of Plain City, Utah one daughter Pauline Malone of Independence, Kansas one sister Joann Guinn of Bella Vista, Arkansas four grandchildren Katlin Johnson, Tyler Malone, Ashley Clift and Samantha Clift one great grandson Darren Johnson of Abilene, Texas she was preceded in death by one son Edward Malone in 1983 and one great grandchild Reilley Johnson in 2009.
