Edra Arlene Baldwin

Edra Arlene Baldwin, 88 passed away at Medicalodges of Independence on Saturday, July 22, 2023.

Edra was born on February 21, 1935 in Longton, Kansas to Floyd and Mae (Lamb) Vestal. Edra attended the Longton school system graduating from Longton High School in 1953. Edra worked at ACC/Standard Motors retiring after 36 years of dedicated service. In June of 1951, Edra married Bill Kimzey, the two were married 16 years until his passing in 1967. She then married Clarence Muller in February of 1968, they later divorced. In October of 1970 she married Arthur Kahler, they were married 10 years until he passed away in 1980. Edra then married Clifton Baldwin in November of 1984 and they were married 21 years until his passing in 2005. Edra was a lifetime member of the Lady’s Auxiliary Post 1186, and a member of the Prayer Chapel. She loved to spend time with her family, play BINGO and go bowling.

Edra is preceded in death by her daughters, Pamela Atkinson, and Brenda Benbrook, parents, Floyd and Mae Vestal, husbands, Bill Kimzey, Arthur Kahler, and Clifton Baldwin.

Her memory will carry on her sons, Bill and wife Angela Kimzey, and Bryant Kimzey, both of Independence, KS, stepson, David Kahler of Skiatook, OK, brother, Lavern Vestal of Independence, KS, sisters, Reba Jesseph of Jinks, OK, and Audrey and husband Bill Tharpe of Udall, KS, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Family will greet friends at visitation on Thursday, July 27^th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potts Chapel in Independence. Graveside services will take place at Longton Cemetery in Longton, KS on Friday, July 28^th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to AWOL.
