Douglas White

Douglas Doug Edward White, age 58, of Caney, Kansas died Monday, December 12, 2011 at his home in Caney, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the Tyro Christian Church with the Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Caney Golf Course or charity of their choice and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel. Doug was born September 20, 1953 in Great Bend, Kansas to Cole Edward and Marva Ellen Shafter White. Doug grew up in Caney, Kansas and graduated from the Caney High School in 1972. Doug worked for Hesston Manufacturing out of Halstead, Kansas. In 1989 he owned and operated Caney Tire until 2010. In 2011 Doug opened the Caney Paint Supply. He also enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer. Doug was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his parents Pete and Marva White of Caney, Kansas one son Travis D. White of Plano, Texas one brother Danny C. and wife Denise White of Anacoco, Louisiana two sisters Sherry and husband Don Perkins and Lisa and husband Carl Hempel both of Caney, Kansas companion Lori Baker of Caney, Kansas and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephew.
