Douglas Bryce Paine

Douglas Bryce Paine, 57, of Independence passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, at his home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel.

Douglas was born September 10, 1965, in Los Gatos, California to the late Melvin and Betty Paine. He lived his younger years in California before moving to Kansas at the age of 16.

He graduated from Labette County High School. Spending time with family was one of the things Douglas enjoyed most in life along with taking care of his yard and of course his dog Loki.

At the time of his death, he was employed at Mid-West Fertilizer in Liberty, Kansas. Douglas will be missed by many.

Those left to carry on his memory are his brother Blynn (Daisy) Paine of Livermore, California, Sister Tina (Dwight) Coda of Independence and Crystal (Rick) Fosnight of Morehead, Kansas. Children, Dennis Essig (Jeryn) of Springfield, Missouri, Bryce (Sierra) Paine of Spokane, Washington, Logan (Keegan) Holmes, Caney, Kylie (Jonny) Hobbs of Independence and Mylea Pain of Cherryvale, along with 8 grandchildren.

Family will be holding a memorial service in Douglas’ honor on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 at the Bolton Friends Church, Bolton, KS.
