Dorothy Jean (Gosser) Carpenter passed away October 28, 2018 at the age of 89. Cremation has taken place and services are entrusted with Potts Chapel of Independence. A memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army, 327 Constitution Street, Emporia, Ks at 10:00am.
Dorothy Jean Carpenter was born on November 21, 1928 in Plymouth, Kansas. She was the daughter of James Lewis and Viola May (White) Gosser. Dorothy married Clyde Jr. Carpenter on May 22, 1947 in Emporia, Kansas.
Those left to cherish her memory are son Roger Carpenter and wife Jonnie of Emporia, KS., daughter Shirley Reynolds and husband Troy of Independence, KS., granddaughters: Tess carpenter of Washington State, Lois Dalrymple of Independence, KS., Lisa Bahr of Phoenix, AZ., and Donna King of Grants Pass, OR., grandsons: Dale Dalrymple of Independence, KS., Michael Dalrymple of Tulsa, OK., great-grandson Mitchel Carpenter of Washington State, sisters: Nancy Wyatt of Halstead, KS. and Patty Sue Vogts and husband Larl of Michigan and lots of nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sharon, grandson Chris, brothers: Herbert, James Jr. and Bill Gosser, sisters: Ethel Knight, Rosetta Clark and Joann Baysinger.
