Doris Wright

Doris Ruth Wright, age 88, of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at her home in Independence, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at the Zion Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ron Oldenettel under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Zion Lutheran Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Doris Ruth Wright was born March 26, 1923 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Frank Logan and Ethel Anna McCollum Bryan. Doris graduated from the Independence High School in 1941. She then attended nursing school in Kansas City. On May 26, 1947 Doris married Hugh A. Wright and the couple made their home in Independence, Kansas. Doris worked for Dr. Carter, August Baden, and the Independence State Bank. She lived her life in Christ. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and Women of Zion. Survivors include two sons Jeff Wright of Independence, Kansas and David Wright of Corpos Christi, Texas one sister Margarett Lowe of Oregon and three grandchildren Arron, Ashley and Raymond.
