Donna Jean Dugan, age 77 of Independence, Kansas died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her home in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas with the Chaplain Mike Graham of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating. Donna was born April 25, 1932 in Wakene, Kansas to Lawrence Eugene and J. Elba Ross Berry. She grew up in Quinter, Kansas where she attended Schools. On April 29, 1950 Donna married James John Dugan in Oswego, Kansas; they made their home in several different places including Parsons, Kansas before moving to Independence, Kansas in 1990. Donna was a homemaker and a loving Mother and Grandmother. She was a member of the VFW ladies auxillary. Survivors include her husband James J. Dugan of the home; four sons Michael Dugan of Bosier City, Louisiana, Steven Dugan of Mayetta, Kansas, Curt Dugan of Topeka, Kansas and Jerry Dugan of Lyndon, Kansas; five daughters Roxanne Harrison of Carbondale, Kansas, Diane Stephenson of Independence, Kansas, Patricia Rasdall of Topeka, Kansas, Dixie Castillo of Independence, Kansas and Bobbie Dugan of Topeka, Kansas; two sisters Carol Zarr of Herrington, Kansas and Sharon Patterson of Quinter, Kansas; 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Danny Dugan; granddaughter Laura Dugan, one sister Audine Richards, and one brother Larry Berry.
