Donna Burnett Milner, 73, arrived at Heavens Gate on October 19, 2013 after a short battle with lung cancer.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 22 with the family receiving friends from 5 p.m. 7 p.m. Memorial services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, both at Potts Chapel in Independence, KS.
Donna was born in Peoria, OK on May 21, 1940 to Vernon Cooper and Georgia Cook Cooper. Donna grew up in Independence and graduated for HIS in 1957. She married Bill Burnett, October 19, 1957 in Independence and had 3 children. They divorced in 1983. She married Orlin Jit Milner, July 17, 1993 and they resided in Rose Hill, KS.
Survivors include husband, Jit Milner, Rose Hill, daughters Debbie Bob Lassiter, Flower Mound, TX, Kelly Jim Patterson, Carthage, MO and son Bill Burnett Jr. Wichita, stepdaughters Stephanie Rick Peatrie and Kellie Milner both from Manhattan, sister Ginny Craig Turner, Independence, grandchildren Megan Robertson, Jennifer Lassiter, Shayla, Brett and Brandon Burnett, several nieces and nephews and her special dog, Baby. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy Cooper and nephew Kenny Copper.
Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Independence. The family has suggested memorials to Harden Hospice, Wichita, KS and contributions may be left with Potts Chapel.
