Donald Ray Tucker Obituary The family and friends of Donald Ray Tucker invite you to celebrate with them the life of a Christian servant leader. Loved by family and friends alike, Don led a life filled with uplifting and helping others. He called himself a jack of all trades and a master of none and yet it never seemed to matter what he put his hand to, soon he was considered a craftsman and expert. He grew up on a farm during the depression years and whether it was farming, ranching, carpentry, retail, or anything else, God blessed his works and Don shared it with his family and friends. The son of Earl Wynn Tucker and Ina S. Tucker, Don was born in Boone Colorado on September 17, 1928. Celebrating his life is his family: Loving Wife, Peggy Tucker four Children: Debra Stowe, Diana Nordin, Donna Kiister, and Darrell Tucker. Don and Peggy have twelve grandchildren and seven greatgrandchildren. Everywhere Don lived, he and Peggy soon had a host of neighbors and friends because they truly understood hospitality and had the servant attitude of Christ. If something needed repaired, he could be found helping his neighbor. If chores needed worked, he would be working side by side with a friend or brother in Christ to get things accomplished. He spent the majority of his years in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, California, and Arizona. But in any state, because of Dons work as a Sojourner, humanitarian, and friend, the Tuckers were always welcome. Over the course of his life he and Peggy traveled to every state, and always, folks had an open door and meal to share with friends made along the way. He loved a job well done, and always left things better, cleaner and neater than he found them. Family and friends could always count on a place to stay, a homecooked meal, an open door with Christians who put others first when they came to the Tuckers door. Don spent time building relationships wherever he went: fishing, camping, working, playing, always provided an opportunity to share the gospel of Christ through a life of service. Dons last days were spent at home with his family and under Hospice care. Should you desire to donate in his memory, we ask that you please give to the local Hospice organization of your choice. Services are being held were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Community Christian Church 3035 S 10th Street, Independence, KS with the Reverend Steve Butler officiating. Cremation will follow with inurnment in the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
