Donald Thompson

Donald Don Thompson ,59, of Independence died Sunday at his home. Cremation has taken place. A book signing will be from 8:00am to 7:00 pm, Thursday June 16, 2011 at the Potts Chapel Independence with the family receiving friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A memorial has been set up for A. W. O. L. and remembrances may be left at Potts Chapel. Don was born January 1, 1952, in Independence, Kansas the son of Donald D. and Gertrude Cook Thompson. He graduated from the Independence High School and also attained some College credits. Don worked for The Store in Independence for several years and he then purchased The Store and was the owner Operator for several years. Don was employed by the Microtel Inn Suites at the time of his death. Survivors are a brother Larry Thompson of Independence, five sisters Nancy Smith and Shirley Smith of Independence, Janett Robinson of Edna, Kansas, Esther Wentworth of Mesa, Az., Gladys Muckey of Auroa, Colo.
