Donald D. Jesseph

Donald (Don) D. Jesseph, age 89, passed away from this world on December 27, 2025. Don was born at home on January 15, 1936, in Milan, Kansas, to Lester Paul and Gladys Beatrice (Reneau) Jesseph. 

Don grew up in the Peru and Argonia, Kansas, areas. Having graduated from Argonia High School in 1954. After High School, Don joined the marines, serving from 1954 until 1957. Spending a year of his service inn Japan before finishing stateside. In 1959, Don married Rosalyce (Walker/ Hurford), accepting 4 more children into his life: Rhonda, Bryan, Roger, and Bruce. 

Don worked several jobs before hiring on as a supervisor with QuikTrip in 1968, and held several different positions with QT until he and Rose, in 1982, bought the QT's in Independence, Kansas, and Coffeyville, Kansas. Operating them as "The Store" until 1994. After this, Don drove trade cars for Quality Toyota of Independence and drove a school bus for the Independence School District before retiring in 2020. He enjoyed fishing, playing gold, gambling, and traveling. Having visited all the states except Alaska. 

Don and Rose enjoyed home life in rural Independence, raising a garden, chickens, and cattle through the years, but he enjoyed mowing his yard and gambling most of all. 

Don is preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Grace Jones, brothers, Clarence and W. Russell Jesseph. 

Don leaves behind his wife of almost 52 years, Rosalyce (Rose) of Independence, Kansas, his children, Brenda (Randy) Grohs of Meridian, Idaho, Peggy Jesseph of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Troy (Julie) Jesseph of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Rhonda Amos of Independence, Kansas, and Bruce Hurford of Spring Hill, Kansas. Along with 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, and his sister, Betty Holley of Savannah, Missouri and sister, Irene (Melvin) White of Peck, Kansas, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Don is loved and missed by all. 

Per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place, with no services pending.
