Don Edwards Bridenstine, age 57, of Caney, Kansas passed away Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Caney Nursing Center in Caney, Kansas following a lengthy illness. A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas with Harry Hynes Hospice Chaplain Mike Graham officiating under the direction of Potts Chapel of Caney, Kansas. Viewing and book signing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Potts Chapel in Caney. Online condolences may be left at www.pottsfuneralhome.com. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Caney Nursing Center and these remembrances may be left in care of Potts Chapel of Caney. Don was born April 20, 1955 in Caney, Kansas the son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville J. Bud Bridenstine. He grew up in Caney and attended the Caney school system up until his Junior year of high school. He graduated from Orono High School in Waygata, Minnesota in 1973. He later attended Okmulgee Tech in Oklahoma, majoring in Graphic Arts. His hobby was photography and developing his own pictures. He was a selftaught guitarist who composed his own songs and lyrics. He worked in plants in Oklahoma and Texas and when he returned to Caney he worked for KOPCO. He was a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orville J. Bud Bridenstine of Caney, Kansas two brothers, Doug Bridenstine of Wichita, Kansas and Bland Bridenstine of Catoosa, Oklahoma two nieces Melanie Boaz and her husband Todd of Owasso, Oklahoma and Michelle Golden and her husband Ben of Parker, Colorado and several greatnieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of Potts Chapel of Caney, Kansas.
