Devin Dwayne Windsor, 40, of Independence, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.
Devin was born on January 7, 1986, in Winfield, Kansas, to Mark Windsor and Michele Wonser. He grew up in Cherryvale, Kansas, and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 2004, where he was a standout athlete for the Chargers.
On September 10, 2011, Devin married Valerie Jean Ross in Fredonia, Kansas. Together, they built a life filled with family, hard work, and many adventures. Over the years, they made their home in Southeast Kansas before moving to Tennessee, where they lived for several years. In 2026, Devin and Valerie returned home to Independence, Kansas.
Devin began his career working on oil rigs before becoming a business owner, bringing the same drive and determination to the businesses he built. He owned and operated Premier Construction in Independence, Kansas, and later founded and operated Barndos by Devin in Tennessee.
Above all else, Devin loved his family. He was an avid golfer and especially enjoyed coaching his children and watching them compete in the sports they loved. Some of his greatest joys came from being their dad and being present for the moments that mattered most.
Devin is survived by his wife, Valerie Windsor; his three children, Landon Dean Windsor, Ava Jean Windsor, and Lily Michelle Windsor; his father, Mark Windsor and wife Freda; his mother, Michele Housel and husband Stephen; and his mother-in-law, Pamela Schultz.
He is also survived by his siblings: Matt Wonser and wife Crystal, Shanele Edwards and husband Cameron, Dennon Windsor and wife Morgan, Kaden Housel and wife Taylour, Cody Werts and wife Kasey, Colby Werts, and Courtney Thomas and husband Timmy; his siblings-in-law, Michelle DeGiusti and husband Marc, Georgette Ross, Christina Graves, and Billy Graves and wife Jessie; and his grandparents, Sonja Housel, Carolyn Wonser, Dolly Daniel and husband Marvin, and Wanda Ross.
Devin was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur Wonser, Nancy Rockwell, Ted Housel, Fred and Nila Windsor; his grandfather-in-law, George Ross Sr.; his father-in-law, George Ross Jr.; and his uncle, Jesse Wonser.
