Denver E. Tincknell, 91, of Cherryvale, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Via Christi St. Francis Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas with the Reverend Susan Brown of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 15, 2011 with the family receiving friends at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale United Methodist Women and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Denver Eugene Tincknell was born December 16, 1919 in West Cherry, Township Montgomery County, Kansas. He was one of five children born to his parents, James David and Iva Myrtle Jones Tincknell. His family moved to a farm on the edge of Cherryvale when he was a very young boy. He attended Garfield, McKinley, and 2 years of high school in Cherryvale. Denvers Heart and soul was in Cherryvale, Kansas. Every time he moved away all he could think of and talk about was returning to Cherryvale. Denver heard this country calling and volunteered to join the war effort on October 14, 1941. He served his country proudly and received a Bronze Star for his efforts. Denver and Maxine Lousina Littell were united in marriage of February 15, 1946. In December of 1946 they received their first born a daughter Lousina Kay. They moved to Turner Oregon and resided there for about 3 years returning to Kansas in November of 1951. They were blessed with a son, Delmar Eugene, in July 1952. Denver worked at many different types of jobs in his 91 years. He was a milk truck driver, a livestock farmer, worked at Continental Can, Kansas Army Ammunitions Plant, and Dixon but the job he enjoyed the most was going to auction sales and garage sales buying and selling used and antique merchandise. Denver was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine on December 12, 1972 his parents James David and Iva Myrtle Jones Tincknell, Son, Delmar Eugene Tincknell Brothers Virgil, Allen, Cecil and Howard Tincknell. Survivors: daughter Lousina Johnny Mishler, DaughterInLaw Edyth Jarrett, Grandchildren Denver Tammy Mishler, Justin Ashley Mishler, and Clarissa Shawn Davis. Great Grandchildren Jonathan Myer, twins Alixandra and Madison Mishler, and Gabriel Mishler.
