Delores Roldan

Delores Rebecca Roldan, 82, of Independence, Kansas passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

Delores was born on November 6, 1941, to Emanuel Martinez and Maria (Leon) Martinez in Chanute, Kansas. She attended St. Andrews School and had an absolute love for life. Delores married John Roldan in 1966, but they later divorced in 1991. She had many friends and never met a stranger. When Delores became friends with people, she was a friend for life and was always there in times of need. Her heart was pure and full of light.

Everyone knew Delores as mija. She filled everyone’s lives with pure happiness, love, and joy. She was very loved by all her family and friends. She was a loving person and cooked the best Mexican food. Delores was very outspoken and was always honest. She had a great admiration for pets. Delores was a very hard worker and worked for Standard Motors until her retirement at 65.

She is preceded in death by her parents Emanuel and Maria Martinez, and her brother Richard Martinez.

She is survived by her son Michael (Jo) Roldan of Owasso, Oklahoma; her brothers Rudy (Lucy) Martinez of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Manuel (Erma) Martinez of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Eddie (Martha) Godinez of Independence, Kansas; her granddaughter Kendall (Trevor) Esslinger of Owasso, Oklahoma, her great grandchildren Judah and Bailey Esslinger; Colten (Anna Marie) Wolfe and their children Cheyenne, Boone, Eloise, and Ezekiel; Shanna Wolfe, Jaelyn McAdams and Nikayla Wolfe.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Delores’s name to AWOL Humane Society in Independence, Kansas and St. Andrew Catholic Church. A Reciting of the Rosary will be held July 1, 2024, at 9:30 AM with Funeral Mass immediately following at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Independence, Kansas.
