Dee Hattan, 74, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Thursday February 26, 2015 at the Cox Health South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m. Thursday March 5, 2015 at the First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Kansas with the Reverend David Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Cherryvale, Kansas.
A book signing will be held from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 4th , 2015 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the Cherryvale Library and contributions' may be left at the Potts Chapel.
Dee was born May 6, 1940 in Independence, Kansas the son of Clarence E. and R. Juanita (Oliver) Hattan. He grew up in Independence and graduated from the Independence school system. He then attended Kansas State where he got his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.
On August 2, 1964 in Independence Dee was united in marriage to Shirley Corn and the couple made their home in Independence. Shirley survives at the home.
Dee worked as a Warehouse Manager for the FEMCO Company in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home, two sons Jim Hattan and wife Amy of Cherryvale, Ks. Jeff Hattan and wife Jenny of Wichita, Ks. One daughter Pattie Caldwell and husband Jack of Alabama. Two brothers David Hattan and wife Dorothy of Maryland, and Al Scott and wife Kathy of Louisberg, Ks. Two sisters Jo Graham and husband Ron of Independence and Ann Housel of Independence. Four grandchildren Lisa Walsh, Ben Powell, Gracie Hattan and Emma Hattan.
