Deanna Lane

Deanna Dee Lane, 70, of rural Liberty, Ks. passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Independence, Ks. She was born March 4, 1939 at Hastings, Ne. , the daughter of Charles Bud and Lois Wald Allison. Deanna graduated from Caney High School in 1957, an Associates degree from Coffeyville Community College in 1971 and a B.S. in Education from Pittsburg State in 1973. She taught elementary education in the Cherryvale school system for 26 years. She has lived on a rural Liberty ranch for the last 43 years where she raised cattle. She attended New Life Praise and Worship Church of Cherryvale. She enjoyed attending events for her grandchildren and basically being a Grandma. She married Walter Booth on April 20, 1958 and they later
orced. On May 4, 1979, she married Jerry Lane. He preceded her in death in May of 2004. Survivors include a son, Brent and wife Dawn Booth, rural Liberty, Ks., daughter, Janet and husband Larry Bernd, Cherryvale, Ks. Brother, Larry Allison and wife Bonita of Surprise, Az. and a sister, Linda and husband George Cowan, Caney ,Ks. Six grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan Bernd, Colt, Dakota, Chaneya Booth and Brittany Vogt. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 2:00P.M. at the New Life Praise and Worship Church of Cherryvale, Ks. Visitation will be at the Potts Chapel of Cherryvale Tuesday 4 till 7 P.M. with the family present 6 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Caney, Ks. Memorial contributions may be given to a Scholarship fund in care of either Cherryvale Alumni or Caney Alumni Associations.
