David Reynolds

David Wayne Reynolds, age 66, of Independence, Kansas passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at his home in Independence, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Zion Lutheran Church with the Pastor Roland Vega officiating. Burial will follow in the Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel.

The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.

On March 4, 1947 David was born in Independence, Kansas to the late Clifford and Helen Harms Reynolds. David grew up in Olathe and Independence, Kansas and graduated from the Independence High School. He also attended the Independence Community College. David then entered the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country for four years.

David then went to work for KGE and then later went to work for Hackney Sons as a welder for 37 years. David married the love of his life Judy Kay Stouder on September 19, 1970 in Independence, Kansas. As best friends and soul mates, they went on lovingly to raise their daughter Heather and enjoyed 43 years of marriage. He always enjoyed helping coach from TBall through girls senior softball. He loved to play golf when he could. David also loved visiting with the neighbors outside in warm weather. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Independence, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife Judy of the home daughter Heather and husband Bryan Kinnamon of Colony, Texas and two twin grandsons Taylor and Tyler Kinnamon of Colony, Texas brother James H. Reynolds and wife Linda of Florida twin brother Don Reynolds and wife Becky of Independence, Kansas with several nephews and nieces.
