David Allen Bredehoft passed from his earthly home into God's kingdom on Thursday, September 1st, 2016. David was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather "Papa", son, brother, uncle and friend.
David Allen Bredehoft was born October 26, 1957 in Independence, Kansas to Louis A. and Virginia (Henderson) Bredehoft. He attended Zion Lutheran School and graduated from Independence High School in 1975.
On July 17th, 1976 he was united in marriage to Ginger King and through this union they had two daughters Jennifer Saleen and Kattie Kaleen. Ginger preceded David in death on September 30th, 1994.
On September 9th, 2000 he was united in marriage to Diana Aiken-Obermier in Independence, Kansas and she survives at the home.
David was a farmer and rancher who loved working on the farm more than anything. He worked for twenty plus years for Western Drilling / Oil Patch and prior to that worked with Sunflower oil field equipment company and for Lee and Dixie Graves. He worked for South Coffeyville Stockyards and Fredonia Livestock Auction as well as farming.
David was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and he attended the Community Christian Church all of Independence, Kansas.
David is survived by his wife Diana; a daughter Jennifer S. Haley and husband Christopher and grandsons Cameron David and Jerrod Walker Haley of Lexington, Oklahoma; a son Joshua C. Obermier and wife Misty and grandsons Wyatt James and Wade Jaxon Obermier of Talala, Oklahoma; a daughter Kattie K. Bredehoft of Winona, Minnesota; mother Virginia Bredehoft, sister Nancy Evans all of Independence, Kansas. And many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
David was preceded in death by his wife Ginger Bredehoft; grandson Jacob Case Haley and his father Louis A. Bredehoft.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Community Christian Church with Pastor Don Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrisonville Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
The family has suggested memorials to the Lexington Bulldog Baseball or the Montgomery County Rural Fire and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
