David Alan Brackin

David Alan Brackin, 74, a dedicated and accomplished project manager who retired from Jacobs Engineering, passed away on May 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and lasting memories.

David was known for his inquisitive mind, creative spirit, and remarkable talent. Those who knew him will always remember his quick wit and gentle soul, qualities that made him truly special.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Schabel, and his beloved brother, Philip Brackin. He also leaves behind treasured nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sister-in-law, all of whom cherished him deeply. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Adams) Snell, and his brother, Harry Brackin.

A private celebration of life will be held with family at a later time. In honor of David’s legacy and in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the IGC Sporting Heritage Center and left with Potts Funeral Home, 122 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Independence, Kansas 67301.
