David Botts

David Earl Botts, 60, of Independence, Kansas, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018, at his home. At the request of the family, cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel. A celebration of David's life will be held at a later date.

David Earl Botts was born on May 7, 1958, to Cecil and Hazel (Gallop) Botts in Independence, Kansas. David proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Throughout the years, David was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. During his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and entertaining his friends and family by playing various music selections on his guitar.

Davis is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Botts, brother Ronnie Botts, and sisters, Verna Eddington and Margo Rinkenberger.

Those left to cherish David's memory include: mother Hazel Schafer of Neodesha; son Shane and wife Elizabeth Botts of Fredonia; daughter Heather and husband Chris Tigner of Neodesha; brothers Sonnie Johnson, John Botts, Jimmie Botts; sisters Sherry Turner, Glenda Persinger, Linda Schafer; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
