Dannie Doub, age 74, of Independence, Kansas passed away March 24, 2016 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Ok. He was born to Wayne and Bonnie (Mott) Doub in Culver City, CA on December 16, 1941.
He attended Kansas City and Independence Schools and was a member of the class of 1961.
He married Debra Prather and they later divorced. On May 24, 1985 he united in marriage to Linda (Mayo). This union brought together each of their 3 children from separate marriages and made a large loving family that continues to grow today.
Dannie enjoyed spending quality time with his children, grandchildren, and friends. He had a passion for restoring old cars, horse activities, and lived a cowboy life style everyday.
He worked as a heavy equipment operator, body shop manager at Quality Motors, retired self-employed (Doub Ditching) and still enjoyed operating a backhoe for other area businesses.
He was a Deacon of the Church of the Brethren, Independence, KS. He took great pride in his church family and the growth and improvement of the church. Through the years he was associated with and served on various board positions with the Independence Saddle Club, Independence Trail Riders, and Kansas Custom LTD Car Club.
He leaves behind his wife Linda of the home, 6 children Don & Tammie Doub, Glenda & Steve Bryant, Gregg & Krista Doub, Paula & Dan Tow, Jay & Valerie Jones, all of Independence, and Patrick & Connie Brzoticky of Woodward, OK. 15 grandchildren, Shanna (Steve) Pacheco, Dusti Doub, Blake Bryant, Wade (Mindy) Bryant, Tyler (Kayla) Bryant, Justin Doub, Kaylee Doub, Brianna Brzoticky, Britney Brzoticky, Travis (Brandy) Tow, Trevor (Liz) Tow, Lauren Whitson, Whitley Jones, Deacon Jones, Reese Jones. 14 great grandchildren Talon, Taryn, Taylor, Tristin, Sierra, Zowie, Tatum, Briar, Lacey, Hayden, Corbyn, Bentley, Landon, Lane and #15 due in October. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Cheryl & Marvin Thompson of Cherryvale, KS, Connie & Allan Newkirk of Havana, KS, DeeAnn & Allen Shouse of Independence, KS and Terri & Ralph Burris of Havana, KS along with multiple nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents Wayne and Bonnie Doub and granddaughter Brooke Brzoticky.
Visitation hours will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com
Celebration of Life Services will be held at the Assembly of God Church on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.
The family has suggested memorials to The Church of the Brethren of Independence and contributions may be left at Potts Chapel.
