Dallas DeWayne Roe, age 64, of Caney, Kansas died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at his home in Caney, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas with the Bishop Kerry Holyoak of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints or the Caney Valley Historical Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Dallas was born March 27, 1946 in Wray, Colorado to Max I. and Bernice Brown Roe. He grew up in Adams County, Colorado and graduated from the Adams City High School in 1965. In 1965 Dallas entered the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War before retiring from the United States Army in 1985. He then went to work for Madoxx Gas Company before working for the United States Post Office for 15 years retiring in 2001. Dallas then worked part time in Real Estate in Utah and Colorado. He moved to Caney, Kansas in 2006. Dallas was a member of the VFW, Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints in Independence, Kansas, Boy Scout Troop Leader and many volunteer activities in the Caney Community. Survivors include his parents Max and Bernice Roe of Caney, Kansas one brother Darrel and Nancy Roe of Caney, Kansas two sons Danial Roe and wife Beth DePinto and their child Danialle Roe of Fort Lupton, Colorado Thomas Roe and wife Leisa and children Logan, Jacob, Tyler and Sarina of Parker Colorado. Dallas always seemed to be anxiously engaged in a good cause. At church, he was friendly to everyone, came up and shook your hand and made conversation. He was ready to do whatever was asked of him. He was very happy to be able to watch over his aging parents, never heard him complain about anything. He was a good upstanding man, and he loved the Lord.
