Dale Wood

Dale Miles Wood, Age 82, of rural Independence, KS passed away at the Kansas Medical Center, in Andover, KS on Monday, March 7, 2016.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 11th at 3:30pm at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Ks.
Dale was born on April 26, 1933 in Independence, KS to Bertha Atkinson and William Wood of Independence. He grew up in Independence, and graduated from Independence High School. He married Marie (Garoutte) Wood on May 24, 1952 and the couple made their home in Rural Independence, where they raised four children. He was retired from his own business, Dale's TV and Repair.
He was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Sycamore, KS. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and RC airplanes.
Dale was preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Wood of Rural Independence, and sons; Charles Wood, Steven Wood, Mark Wood, and David Wood. As well as five grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Amber, Alex, and Ashton, and great-grandchildren.
