DALE RAY POWERS Dale R. Powers, 72 of Sedan, Kansas died Monday, September 12, 2011 at his home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel of Independence. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, September 23, 2011 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. Dale Ray Powers was born November 6, 1938 at Independence, Kansas the son of Elmer Powers and Elsie Botts Powers. He worked as a truck driver for numerous different companies most recently for Transwood until ill health forced him to retire. He was united in marriage to Helen Poe and she preceded him in death. He was later united in marriage to Marilyn Ruth and she also preceded him in death March 2, 2009. Survivors include three sons, Dean Powers of Cherryvale, Kansas, Vernon Powers of Independence, Kansas, Kelly Powers of Booneville, Arkansas, two daughters, Gayle Clark of Independence, Kansas, Brenda Hannah of Parsons, Kansas, one sister BJ Bayless of Independence, Kansas, sixteen grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
