Dale Dollison

Dale Roche Dollison, 78 Independence, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Cherryvale Nursing and Rehab in Cherryvale, Kansas. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 -4:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Potts Chapel of Independence. The Family suggest memorial contributions be made to V.F.W. Post 1186 and may be left with the chapel.
Dale was born January 25, 1938 in Independence, Kansas to George Raymond and Doris Vivian (Towe) Dollison. Dale attended Independence, Kansas schools and Altamont Kansas Mechanical Trade School. Following his schooling Dale joined The United Sates Navy on September 12, 1955 and received basic training at the US Naval Training Center in San Diego; CA. Dale served at sea and participated in the nuclear bomb testing at Bakini Islands atoll. Dale was honorably discharged January 23, 1959 following his discharge from the Navy Dale married Virginia "Ginger" Barbeau on July 8, 1961 the couple later divorced. Dale later married F. Jean (Towns) Brungardt on May 24, 1972.
Dale was employed at General Dynamics in San Diego, CA; following his discharge, managed the Eagles Clubs in Parsons and Cherryvale, Kansas, he was an independent trucker, and was a purchasing agent at Charloma Fiberglass in Cherryvale, Kansas at the time of his retirement due to failing health.
Dale was an avid golfer and a member of the Independence Country Club, a member of the Eagles, and a life member of the V.F.W.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother Olive Belle (Parker) Dollison who raised the family, and by two stepsons, James Brungardt (US Navy) and Donald Brungardt (US Air Force). Survivors include his wife of 44 years Jean Dollison of the home, daughters, Danette (Jeff) Clarke, Stillwater, OK; and Denee' (Brian) Compton, Overland Park, KS; stepchildren, Theresa (Dr. Freddie) Ramos, Independence, KS; Tim ( Kristie) Brungardt, Tulsa, OK; Mary (David) Wilcox, Lancaster, CA; 16 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren; sisters Dortha Talley, Tulsa, OK; Delores Lessman, Independence, KS; Nancy Jordan, Denton, TX; and brother Dan (Roberta) Dollison, Independence, KS;
