Cole Pete E. White, age 81 of Caney, Kansas died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center Hospice Unit. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Tyro Christian Church with the Evangelist David Bycroft officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the American Heart Association and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Cole Pete Edward White was born November 15, 1930 in McPherson, Kansas to Cole C. and Laura J. Pippin White. Pete attended schools in McPherson and Peru, Kansas. On October 18, 1952 Pete married Marva Shafter in Caney, Kansas where the couple made their home. Pete worked as the maintenance supervisor for the Caney High School USD 436 for 29 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Tyro Christian Church. Survivors include his wife Marva of the home one son Danny White of Anacoco, Louisiana two daughters Sherry Perkins and Lisa Hempel both of Caney, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Doug White.
