Cody Long

Cody Dee Long, age 51 of Wichita, Kansas died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the Mount Hope Cemetery. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

The family has suggested memorials to the Cody Long Memorial and contributions may be sent to the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Cody Dee Long was born March 1, 1963 in Stella, Missouri to William Harry and Kay F. McDonald Long. He grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and graduated from the Neodesha High School in 1981.

On July 5, 1985 Cody married Corina Velasquez in Miami, Oklahoma to this union they had three children Corey, Brandon and Sabrina Long. The couple later divorced. Cody worked for Burwin Railroad before becoming a welder in which he worked in several different states and was currently working for Cornejo Sons in Wichita, Kansas. Cody had a passion for rebuilding cars and spending time with his granddaughters.

Survivors also include his parents William Kay Long of Neodesha, Kansas brother Colby Long of Fredonia, Kansas, one sister Chelly Long Hoobler of Neodesha, and two granddaughters Alexis Long, Sophie Long.
