Clyde Brown Cauble

November 10, 1925 — November 28, 2024

Clyde Cauble, age 99, passed away peacefully on November 28th at Eagle Estates. Born on November 10, 1925, in Ponca City, OK, Clyde was the youngest of seven brothers born to Jason and Mirtie Cauble. He proudly served his country as an Army mechanic and went on to living a fulfilling life, centered on family, hard work, and simple pleasures.

Clyde married Beaulah Billups, and together they raised one daughter, Arlene Lester. The couple enjoyed life on their farm in Coffeyville until Beaulah's passing in 1973. Clyde later remarried Martha Jane Chase, with whom he shared a love for traveling, gardening, cooking, and square dancing. They remained married until her passing.

After Jane's passing, Clyde continued to live independently on the family farm until the age of 94. He was a simple man who found joy in tinkering in his barn, playing instruments and listening to music and solving the world's problems. His quiet strength and humble spirit made him a beloved figure among family and friends.

In 2020, Clyde moved into Eagle Estates, where he received exceptional care until his passing on Thanksgiving Day. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Eagle Estates staff for their compassionate care and support.

Clyde was the last surviving brother of the Cauble family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his daughter, Arlene (and the late Doug Lester) of Independence, stepchildren Steve and wife Cindy Ross of Independence, Gene and wife Susie Ross of Elk City, Karen and husband Larry Rose of Conroe, Texas and Lydia and husband Scott Ross of Monett, MO. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Heather and husband Skyler Estes and Lauren and husband Matt Ysusi, both of Independence, along with numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who adored him. Clyde's life was a testament to the values of family, service, and simplicity. His warmth and wisdom will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

His celebration of life service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Independence at 10am Friday December 6, 2024, followed by graveside burial at Elm Grove - Edna Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday December 5, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm at Potts Funeral Home.
