Christopher Michael Myers, 27, was taken from this earth on April 25, 2020 in Skiatook, Oklahoma in a motorcycle accident.
Chris was the first born to Delbert and Jana Myers in Independence, Kansas on May 12, 1992. Chris graduated from Independence High School in 2010. Chris was a member of 4-H for 6 years earning the Gold Award. He was also a member of the Boy Scouts of America, earning the distinction of Eagle Scout. Chris worked as a camp staff member for Quivira Scout Ranch for 3 years. After graduation, Chris attended Coffeyville Community College Technical Campus earning his welding certificate. Chris used his CDL to drive for KDOT, transport mail for the United States Postal Service, and operate cement trucks. For the last 7 years, Chris was at tow truck driver in Oklahoma and Kansas. Chris loved to work on and ride motorcycles, hunt, and fish. Most of all Chris loved to socialize and spend time with his friends, whether it was riding their bikes or enjoying the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Myers.
Chris’ memory will live on with his mother, Jana Niver, sister, Cherie Niver, grandparents, Tom and Jeanette Zinser, and Paul and Janet Myers, partner, Jayden O’Neal, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a celebration of Chris’ life will be held at the First Christian Church in Independence, Kansas on June 26th at 10:00 AM.
