It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christopher Wesley Meador, 54, of Elk City, Kansas, who left us peacefully on May 16, 2026, due to natural causes. Born on February 24, 1972, in Independence, Kansas, to parents Clyde Meador and Edwina Bowers. Christopher dedicated his life to the open road as a truck driver, a passion he pursued immediately after graduating from Longton High School. His journey in the trucking industry led him to establish his own business, PJ Trucking, where he worked tirelessly, taking immense pride in his contributions to the community and the connections he made along the way.
A man of indomitable spirit, Christopher was known for his compassion and kindness. From a young age, he exhibited a knack for caring for others, often pushing around a stroller as if it were his very own truck, showcasing his love for vehicles and his desire to explore the world. This deep-seated affinity extended to his love for animals, as he devoted himself to rescuing strays and providing them with the warmth and care they so desperately needed. Christopher's heart was as big as his passion for trucking, and he was known to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the essence of selflessness.
He is survived by his family: Theresa Howell, who stood by his side through the many chapters of their lives together, Ginny (Clint) Black, his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Curtis Heape, a brother not by blood but by bond, and his amazing grandchildren, Cody Jones, Isabella Jones, Garrett Jones, Colt Jones, Bentley Black and Blaze Black. Christopher's absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his legacy of compassion, hard work, and love will continue to inspire those he left behind.
A graveside service in celebration of Christopher's life will be held on May 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM. We invite all family and friends to join us as we honor a remarkable man who touched so many lives. In this time of mourning, let us come together to remember his warmth, his spirit, and the countless memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
The family would like to announce if you have the opportunity to join Christopher's last convoy, semi’s will be meeting and lined in downtown Elk City, Kansas, on May 22, 2026 at 10:30am to follow to Oak hill Cemetery, where Christopher will be laid to rest.
