Charles Ellis Romine, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 in Wellington, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Charles was born in Independence, Kansas on October 1, 1933 to Harold (Bud) and Viola (Hinman) Romine.
Charles loved to go camping, fishing, mowing and taking care of the yard. Later in life, he worked at the Futures Unlimited Workshop in Wellington. He thought it was important that everyone had a job. He had excellent work ethic. He also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army and at the Wellington Recycling Center.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Dorothy Ogden.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two sisters: Shirley (Clarence) Hosier of Independence and Patricia Vohs of Lansing, Kansas, brother Harold Romine of Independence and many nieces and nephews.
Futures Unlimited Inc. will have a special service at a later date.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Futures Unlimited, 2410 N. A, Wellington, KS 67152, and can be left with the funeral home.
