Cathy Jean Beeson

Cathy Jean (Bente) Beeson, 75 of Independence, Kansas peacefully went to the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, November 27, 2023 in Independence.

Cathy was born on March 23, 1948, in Independence, Kansas to Harold Arthur and Maxine Elizabeth (Wiley) Bente. Cathy worked at Automotive Controls for many years as an inspector. On April 20, 1983, she married William “Bill” Beeson in Miami, Oklahoma. Cathy was a member of the First Christian Church in Independence, and many will remember her for her love and dedication to her cats and especially her beloved cat Sparkle.

Cathy is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Beeson, parents, Harold and Maxine Bente, stepson, David Beeson and stepdaughter, Diane Jordan.

Her memory will carry on with her daughter, Christina (Lett) Ananthakrishnan, stepdaughters, Penny Swigart, and Marci Schrag, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Following Cathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel, and she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Bill.
